About Adriana
Adriana and Tall Tale at the Florida Horse Park
Adriana Nannini is an adult amateur event + dressage rider, high school teacher and organic farmer based in Crozet, Virginia. She has competed through the CCI2*/Intermediate level with her long-time partner, Tall Tale. You can follow Fable's journey from un-started 2 year old to upper-level event horse on Adriana's blog.
Adriana graduated from James Madison University in 2010 with a BFA in fine art. While at JMU, Adriana was selected to compete on the JMU Equestrian Team in IHSA Equitation. In 2008, Adriana received the "Most Improved Rider" award from the team coach. After graduation, Adriana moved to South Florida where she ran a busy lesson barn, facilitated a summer horsemanship camp for young girls and competed in jumper classes. Following her time in Florida, Adriana was employed as a working student for Sarah Morton in Aiken, South Carolina where she learned the ropes of bringing along young horses for eventing and fox hunting. Adriana then obtained her Master of Arts in Teaching from Rhode Island School of Design in 2014 and is now employed as a High School photography + graphic design teacher. Additionally, she owns and operates Tall Tale Farm, an 11 acre horse farm in rural Crozet, Virginia. Adriana actively competes on the eventing + dressage circuits as an amateur. She is currently pursuing her USDF bronze medal with longtime partner, Tall Tale.
Adriana truly believes that hard work and perseverance are the keys to success. Her training philosophy has a strong emphasis on horsemanship, preparedness and cultivating a solid partnership between horse and rider. Read more about Adriana's training philosophy here.
Adriana is a lifetime advocate for the American Thoroughbred, having brought along several OTTBs over the years, in addition to her long-time partner, Tall Tale, who she started herself as a two year old. Adriana is a supporter of the Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program. She and Fable have won countless TIP awards at events all along the east coast over the course of more than a decade.
Adriana competed in the 2021 Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover with her 4 year old OTTB Wicked Soprano, finishing in the top 20 in an enormous Eventing division, as well as winning reserve champion CANTER USA Award.
